Volunteer foster carers needed for dogs and cats

Could you look after a cat or dog in need?

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home are looking for volunteer foster carers to provide temporary homes for animals who are most in need of care and attention.

 

“We’re looking for people who have time to care for cats or dogs in their own home.  We supply all food and equipment, cover medical costs and travel expenses.  To be a cat fosterer, we’re looking for someone with a spare room and the patience and care to give to undersocialised cats or newborn kittens.  For dog fosterers, we’re looking for people with dog experience who are happy to provide care to dogs who struggle to cope in our kennels until they are rehomed – ideally, you’ll have very few leaving hours and no young children.”

Launching Brenda’s Bottom

Tlön Children’s Books Publishing invite Hilly Fields Networkers to the launch of our first children’s book Brenda’s Bottom and Her Birds by local artist and author, Clare Stanhope.

The launch takes place at Pistachios Cafe on The Park, Hilly Fields, London @7pm Thursday 27th September.

Jason Shelley is founder of Tlön Books Publishing, a local independent book publisher producing cutting edge books with bespoke covers. As a small outfit looking to compete with the big shot publishers, Tlön enjoys the freedom to create works that are new and original without the overhead of complicated processes.
Since their first book in 2002, No Looking Back, they have published several more titles including  ’real page turner’, A Cure for Solitude (2006). The introduction of their subsidiary company, this year, Tlön Children’s Books Publishing, marks their 10th year anniversary. Their first children’s book, Brenda’s Bottom and her birds, launched the same year as the Queen’s diamond jubilee and the London Olympics, celebrates key elements of London, including many of London’s famous buildings, and the River Thames in it’s near entirety.
Join us to hear Jason discuss the trials and tribulations of writing and publishing.
